so we moved here a couple of months ago & have been searching for soul food since. I’ve been wanting to try this place but every time I have thought about it they’ve been closed for break or what not. We finally got the chance to try it & let me tell you I can not be more satisfied. The food was DELICIOUS. The owner was so sweet! Even the kitchen crew was nice! What a wonderful experience, we will for sure be back!I also wanted to mention how grateful we should be that this place gives back to the community. Right at the front door they have a place set up for the struggling to take what they need. I wish more places were like this.We had the terriyaki salmon which was perfectly cooked. The mac & cheese? BUSSIN. the collard greens were FAR from average! I have literally no complaints whatsoever. everything I tried was phenomenal.

The employees and owner are so sweet and nice. The food and service are amazing! I could not take a bite of the baked chicken, collards, or mac and cheese without saying yummm after each mouthful. This food is so delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine Soulfood! Mouthwatering deliciousness. If you have not been here, you are truly missing out!!! Do not wait! I will be back very soon!

Stopped by as we passed through Lexington, NC.Good food! Great to see this establishment busy and thriving. 90% of the folks who were in the line were new customers. I met a faithful customer picking up his regular, Neck bones, rice and gravy.We had turkey wings rice and gravy, mac and cheese and yams.Per my 12 year old daughter the mac and cheese was blessed and highly flavored, amazing!If you go be patient and now that great food takes time.Take care of our small businesses!

Please come and get you some. 4 hours from where is reside and 10 hours from where I was raised , she had me feeling like I was sitting in my nana kitchen . This is home everytime I come .

A group of us ladies traveling found this gem. We had an amazing time. The food was great! We got there an hour before they were closing for their break, however they were very accommodating. The owner came out and introduced herself and we had an amazing time learning the history of her spot. Did I mention how good the food was, especially those pork chops!

Those collards were on point..I was going to ask for a side of pot liquor(the juice etc.). That’s how good those greens were..go try for yourself. I’m not going to say thank me later.. I'm a truck driver from Hopkins, SC and saw this spot on social media. The young lady at the register was very polite and the food was awesome. The fried wings was the best that I ever had. Can't wait until my next trip that way

Food was decent. Not being from that city we ordered several plates to take back home. Traveled to Lexington NC just to try JJ's Mama Soul food. Spent about 230 or so. If they cut back on using a ton of rosemary everything would be great! From what I could see it's brown skin owned and operated. Love that! Will definitely try it out again. And I will simply ask not to use rosemary if they can handle that.
